UA is a word in Swahili meaning “flower.” She is originally from Osaka.She has hit songs such as “Passion”, “Sad Johnny”, and “Milk Tea”.
She has also worked with AJICO and collaborated with Seiko Kikuchi under the name UA × Seiko Kikuchi. Over the years, she has performed at numerous solo tours and festivals. As a vocalist, she has contributed to various artists’ tracks. In addition to her music career, she has appeared in films, hosted the NHK E-Tele children’s program “Uu-A”, and performed in the Broadway musical “Janis”. Her activities span many different fields.Since 2005, she has been living a rural, farming lifestyle. A mother of four, she currently resides in Canada.2025 marks her 30th anniversary since her debut. She has planned a live performance at the Hibiya Outdoor Concert Hall on June 21st, the anniversary of her debut.
