A music producer and selector active both domestically and internationally, he made his debut in 1997 with The Fantastic Plastic Machine and has since released eight original albums. In addition to producing tracks for numerous artists, he has worked as a remixer on over 100 tracks, including those for Tomoyasu Hotei, Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra, UNICORN, Sakanaction, Fatboy Slim, James Brown, Earth, Wind & Fire, and IU.
He has contributed music to films such as Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me and Sex and the City, as well as created the soundtrack for a short animation by Takashi Murakami for Louis Vuitton. He also produced the music for the highly acclaimed UNIQLOCK web content by Uniqlo, which won Grand Prix awards at the three major global advertising festivals.
His work extends to providing music for theater productions, as well as handling music direction for commercial spaces and restaurants. As a DJ, he has performed in every prefecture in Japan and has played in over 60 cities worldwide. In recent years, he has performed at over 100 events annually, including major domestic festivals and internationally renowned events like the Coachella Festival in the United States.
His influence goes beyond music; in the past, he worked as an MD for a major apparel company and has experience as an editor for fashion and culture magazines. He is deeply knowledgeable about vintage items such as clothing, books, records, watches, audio equipment, and cars. He served as the music director for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic opening and closing ceremonies.
Since 2022, he has been a visiting professor in the Music and Sound Design Course at Senzoku Gakuen College of Music.
