He’s joined by grooveman Spot, a core member of Jazzy Sport with a career dating back to 1993, Mitsu The Beats, a genre-blending DJ/beatmaker who was the only Japanese artist selected for URB magazine’s “Next 100” list in 2004 and released GAGLE’s 7th album Plan G in 2024, and RUI, a DJ/beatmaker known for building his own sound across bass and dance music.
Then on Sunday, May 25, Tomoyuki Tanaka—also known as Fantastic Plastic Machine—joins the lineup, known for his 8 original albums, remixes for legends like James Brown and Fatboy Slim, and his role as music director for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. He’s followed by Shuya Okino, who has performed in over 40 countries with Kyoto Jazz Massive and Kyoto Jazz Sextet; YonYon, who has collaborated with KIRINJI and Yaeji and runs her own label “Peace Tree”; and Natsu Summer, a DJ/singer rooted in city pop and reggae, with appearances on BBC Radio 6 Music and collaborations with artists from around the world.
