Natsu Summer is a DJ and singer rooted in city pop and reggae.
Originally from Ehime and currently residing in Tokyo, she grew up listening to city pop and reggae while living by the sea during her childhood. She debuted as a city pop and reggae singer in 2016, produced by Kunimondo Takiguchi (RYUSENKEI). Under the name Natsu Summer, she has released six albums and twelve singles. She has also collaborated as a guest vocalist on works by lyricist Masayoshi Ueno, the unit N.U.D.E (featuring DJEMMA and DJ SHIMOYAMA), DJ KAWASAKI, the French band Funkindustry, Five IIFour, Tokimeki Records, and the Dutch band ROTEM. Known for her transparent, cool, and natural singing voice, she is considered a pioneer in the current city pop and reggae scene. In 2024, she released her latest work, Orange Tsushin.
As a DJ, she has performed alongside notable artists such as Tatsuo Sunaga, Shuya Okino, Toshio Matsuura, MURO, DJ NORI, Hiroshi Kawabe, Tomoyuki Tanaka (FPM), and Takeshi Kubota, and has appeared on BBC Radio 6 Music, where Gilles Peterson is the host, with a guest DJ mix. She continues to be active in a wide range of musical scenes.
