Australian based pro-surfer, musician & artist, Creed McTaggart has been honing his painting skills for the last few years. Whenever he isn’t in the water, he is experimenting with acrylic paint and oil pastels as his mixed medium. Creed explores the ways in which emotions can be articulated through colour. Focusing on a love of prime colours, he delves into an almost primitive mode of painting to evoke rudimentary and relatable feelings. His paintings are known for their raw and unsettling nature, contrasting dark imagery with vibrant colours to challenge the viewer through juxtaposition. His subjects include animals, portraits of fighters, and abstracted figures sometimes isolated in geometric textures.
