The four-piece jam band toconoma captivates audiences with emotional melodies woven into grooves born from passionate dance beats.
Formed in Shibuya, Tokyo, in 2008.
With passionate dance beats creating a groove and emotional melodies, there was something beyond words being conveyed even without vocals. The music transcended genre boundaries and carved a path through the far reaches of the scene.
After releasing their 3rd album “NEWTOWN” in June 2017, they performed at FUJI ROCK 2018 (FIELD OF HEAVEN stage) and held a sold-out 10th anniversary tour at Tokyo’s TSUTAYA O-EAST, along with four other locations, including Hong Kong. They also energetically toured Asia and participated in outdoor festivals. On July 8, 2020, they released their 4th album, “VISTA,” after a three-year hiatus.
In September 2020, after overcoming delays, they held the toconoma JAPAN TOUR “VISTAS” across six locations, with the final performance in May 2021 at Shibuya TSUTAYA O-EAST. In August, they released their first documentary DVD, “VISTAS,” which sold out the initial production run. That same month, they hosted their own event, “TOCOJAWS 2021,” featuring SPECIAL OTHERS, at Ebisu GARDEN HALL, and tickets sold out immediately. They also performed at the FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL for the second time in 2022 (FIELD OF HEAVEN stage).
In 2023, they celebrated their 15th anniversary with a solo tour, “TOCONOVA,” and held their first-ever performance at Hibiya Yagai Ongakudo (Hibiya Outdoor Concert Hall) in August.
In November 2024, they released their fifth album, “ISLAND,” marking a four-year gap since their previous release. Starting in 2025, they are scheduled to embark on a domestic and international release tour, continuing to maintain their pace as a weekend band.
