Born in Japan and raised in Southern California, Michael is a singer-songwriter and producer who embraces the nostalgic sounds of the 1960s, ’70s, and ’80s.
In 2017, Michael made waves with his debut album, ‘Westbound EP’, marking a significant breakthrough in Japan’s music scene. His prowess as a producer has led to collaborations with top J-pop artists such as Aimyon and Naotaro Moriyama, while his performances alongside ohashiTrio, Hanaregumi, and Sakura Fujiwara have further solidified his reputation.
From FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL to SUMMER SONIC, Michael has graced the stages of Japan’s most revered music festivals. In 2023, he performed at one of Thailand’s largest music festivals, Maho Rasop, further solidifying his worldwide fanbase.
In the same year, Michael embarked on a new venture, forming the band brkfstblend with bassist Keity (formerly of LUCKY TAPES) and drummer Tetsushi Kasuya (formerly of Yogee New Waves).
Michael reached new heights with the release of his third album, ‘Daydreams’, in 2024. The self-titled single from the album achieved significant acclaim, soaring to third place on Japan’s TikTok music charts.
Michael’s fusion of AOR, dream pop, soul, acoustic, and ’80s influences continues to captivate audiences globally.
